"Grain Sack" pillow

Tawk of the day: "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything."

Hi all (:

You ever see those ahhh-mazing grain sacks made into pillows?

I adore them! The downside to grain sacks though, is that I haven't found them cheap anywhere.. I decided to make my own. Well, sort of.. Mine are made from Rugs.. Yes, rugs.

All you need is light weight rugs (material thin enough to use on a sewing machine).
*Wash and dry them* if they were already in use like mine were :) and iron them cause they are likely to be wrinkly.
Scissors
Sewing machine
Tape measure
Pins

I lucked out where my rug was the perfect length I needed for my rugs so all I needed to do was cut off the fringe.
I folded the rug in half and sewed the bottom together.
It was wider than I needed so I just sewed a straight line about an inch into the pillow case.

I turned my pillow case inside out.
It looks just like a regular pillowcase here in the pic.
I still needed to sew the other side.
I left enough material on the other end so that I could flip in the ends and hand sew that side shut.
I didn't leave an opening on the pillows to be able to remove them simply because I was too lazy and I figured I could just toss the whole pillow into the washer and dryer and they'd be fine.

Hope you all enjoyed this tutorial,
I still have 3 other couch pillows to make different covers for!
