Making your own "KEEP CALM and CARRY ON" canvas..

tawk of the day :: "BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD.."

I'm assuming everyone has seen the "Keep Calm and Carry On" signs, right?
Well, instead of spending $$  for one online somewhere.. I decided to make my own with just a few items I had laying around the house

Here is what you will need to complete this craft:
Canvas
Felt
Mod Podge
Scrap Book Paper
Computer Printer
Picnik.com <3
Scissors
Hot Glue Gun
Glaze
Foam brush

First, with picnik.com, I got into the 'make collage' page..
proportioned the collage pretty wide and gave it a white background.
(you do not add pictures.. Click done when finished.)
This will be you blank piece you will be working on.
Add text and save to your files..
after you print from your files. go back to picnik.com and click 'continue editing'..
(this way you do not have to start everything over all the time with the collage stuff)

(Also, I saved a picture of a keep calm picture so i could have the 'crown' on top of mine)
I cropped the picture in picnik.com!
Boy when picnik.com leaves for good, i'm gonna be one sad girl!!

Next cut out each word(s) and place them on the carpet just to get a feel of how much space you have to work with and how 'scrunched' it has to be to fit on your canvas.

I used just a plain canvas I got at a PENS game (they were handing them out before the game).. well.. the little one got ahold of it.. slobbered all over it and the colors ran...
so yeaaa, i love my pens, but it was ruined so I just wet it completely and washed off ALL the color (mostly!)

After that.. MOD PODGE everything! ..
(I was kind of bummed that the paper all crinkled.. but I guess that is what gives it some character!)

After that dries completely, cut some felt in strips to fit the edges.. and hot glue them on it.

Last step--Lather up some black glaze on top to give it a Rustic old look!
(it's actually prolly be easier to do this before the felt, but it's okay)

And lastly, DISPLAY your creation!

Happy Crafting to 'youns' ..
& remember, with GOD all crafts are possible ;)
