Gritty Sculpted cardboard 'J'

Tawk of the day:: .. For a little scary piece of information I had learned last night from a friend going to school to be a Pastor: When the world ends, only an estimated 144,000 people (remaining on earth) will enter the pearly gates of Heaven.. .. Gets you thinking if you're really living according to the Bible, doesn't it?

.......................but moving on..  Today I have an easy project for y'all to try out! Wanna learn how to make this :

It looks as if I would have bought this at a lawn ornament place or something of the matter.
This is actually one of these guys:

Large Cardboard 'J' from Joann Fabric
Originally 3.99.. but on sale for a $1 off..

All you need is :
a paper towel-
small paint brush-
and these:

(Weathered Iron..This stuff is so neat! .. It was introduced to me from my mom..
It is very gritty so when it dries it looks as if it is rusty and something you'd see in the flower gardens  of friends.)

(Maroon, Burnt Orange and Dark Brown craft paint.)

First, take your Weathered Iron and paint it all over the J.
It's hard to see the grittiness to it, so you'll just have to try it for yourself!!

Next with your 3 colored paints dab a paper towel in them and dab your letter.
This adds to the rustyness.

After that, add more of the weathered iron on top, just by dabbing in spots with the paint brush.
then dab again with a clean side of the paper towel.

NEXT, SHOW IT OFFFFF :)
THIS MAKES A GREAT STATEMENT IN MY SON'S FUTURE BEDROOM!

-happy crafting-
-Happy Easter!-
